Nikki is fast asleep, she had a long day. We started the day at Allie's school watching her recite verses in her Chapel service...wow, all grown up. Went to a nice breakfast and meandered over to the hospital. The previous two rounds we were there right at the beginning to get a jump start in but this time we took the "fashionably late" approach. Nikki now has a "port" which allows them to push IV medication as opposed to getting stuck in her arm every time. This was the first time using it for chemo and it seemed a little off as she was getting a burning sensation-- fortunately they did some checks and there was no leak in the port. All in all she did well, but the side effects seemed worse this time around. Fortunately, we had a good game plan and got her to eat and smile a bit. She's doing so great but as with any marathon it grinds, please send her best wishes and prayers. Hoping that she can write tomorrow.
What I Know God is good Not too many surprises this time around- we had a good routine for getting the chemo and the rest she needs when home. We only have ONE MORE of this particular chemo (two drugs) My brother is coming from from deployment in less than two weeks!!! How awesome is that? What I don't Know Why Nikki feels worse this time around What made today normal Watching Allie perform at school. She has come SO far. Not able to even walk on stage at the beginning of the year, now leading her class with the motions to the song. PTL something we prayed about #Trinityschoolrocks! Daniel trying to dance is like watching a duck trying to fly with its feathers clipped. Can barely get off the ground , just moves in circles Praise We were able to see our new friend who we met in the chemo room.... what a coincidence, she went to the same nursing school in London as my mom. #divine appointment Received a lot of patience from the HS Prayer Requests Prayers against motion sickness Prayers for some increased energy Prayers for continued no fevers Prayers for sleep thru the night (I am waking up and unable to go back to sleep) Prayers for Mike- patience with kiddos and energy Shout Out Uncle Gerald and Auntie Barabara for sending such a thoughtful gift (see picture)....,made Nikki cry Laci B for the wonderful meal Aloha . Much Aloha~Mike

Continued prayers for you Nikki that God will give you supernatural strength and stamina to face these difficult days. I'm so grateful that you have a rather awesome hubby to help out along with such a great support system there. May God's indescribable grace continue in your life : )

Dear Precious Nikki, After reading this blog tonight, I was reading back over my prayer journal that I kept daily while going through my breast cancer journey. I remember so well everything that your "Awesome Hubby" wrote about here with your sickness, the adjustments of the chemo drip/burning, getting the port situated, rough days, sleepless nights, but you will get through it and you will be stronger for it, and you'll have an awesome testimony. You will be a bright light in some other woman's journey on this same path. Here is something from my prayer journal that was quoted from Susie Larson's book, "The Uncommon Woman". Excellent book.
